Education: B.A in Sociology; B.Th. in Theology; M.A. in Applied Clinical Sociology; M.Div. in Theology; Ph.D. in Social Psychology

Background: I have approximately 30 years of service in law enforcement and human services. My current professional employment is with the Abused Child Unit of the Los Angeles County. I was a Child Abuse Investigator III- Spanish Speaking.  I investigated physical and sexual abuse of children, as well as severe neglect cases. I was a Deputy Probation Officer for many years. I supervised both Adult and Juvenile offenders. I basically worked two types of units at that time; Violent Offenders Program and Narcotic Offenders.

My experience and training ranges from Risk Management, Criminal Behavioral Profiling, Grief Counseling for Children, Dealing with Confrontation & Conflict, Peace Officers Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) Domestic Violence, Counseling of Sex Abusers of Children, Investigative Procedures of Child Sexual Abuse, and Rape Investigation. I have conducted counseling for Sexual Offenders. I am also considered an Expert Witness regarding Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in criminal cases. I am certified as a Narcotic Specialist and a Forensic Interview Specialist.

I have taught for many years. My expertise is in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. My dissertation was on PTSD and Child Abuse in the Salvadoran Refugee Population.

I am an Expert Witness regarding Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in criminal cases. I am certified as a Narcotic Specialist and a Forensic Interview Specialist.

I believe the University of Antelope Valley gives a chance for students of every race and nationality to have a college education. I like the warm atmosphere and comradery that staff, faculty and students have with one another.
