Kyle Barrett begins his second season with UAV as the Pioneers pitching coach, while also assisting with camps.
Barrett came to the Pioneers after claiming the National Christian College Athletic Association's (NCCAA) top prize for two-straight years at Fresno Pacific (Calif.) in the 2014 and 2015 NCCAA World Series. He oversaw a pitching staff that in 2014 posted a 2.91 ERA, two PacWest Conference All-Americans, and the West Region Pitcher of the Year.
In his first year at the helm of the UAV pitching staff, the team held a record of 38-14 with a team ERA of 4.75. The program also had the CalPac Pitcher of the Year in Ayrton Costa (10-3, 110.2 IP, 2.03 ERA, 76 SO) as well as RHP Tyler Sharp (9-1, 71.1 IP, 3.79 ERA, 35 SO, 17 BB) who threw big innings for the pitching staff.
Collegiately, Barrett graduated from Fresno Pacific in 2014 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology, with an emphasis in Sports Psychology. He also pitched for his alma mater between 2010-2012, after completing one season at Modesto (Calif.) Junior College (2009).
