Pioneer Student Success Program

Pioneer Student Success Program (PSSP) is an academic tutoring service developed by University of Antelope Valley (UAV). The program provides students with extra help in General Education (GE) subjects through small group sessions or one-on-one tutoring.

PSSP is not only geared towards students who experience difficulty in understanding concepts in a particular subject but also designed to help any students who want to excel in GE classes. The program provides resources and supportive environment that help students to get the most out of their study time and successfully achieve a college degree from UAV. PSSP is free of charge and is staffed by GE instructors at UAV.

This program is available to all students enrolled at UAV, and offers service in the following subjects: 

  • Mathematics
  • English
  • Physical Education
  • Sociology
  • Psychology
  • Computer
  • Communication
  • Critical Thinking
  • Public Speaking
  • History


To attend these tutoring classes, please follow the steps below:

1. Students fill out the tutoring request form and bring it to the first tutoring session. There is no need to call for appointment if the student comes to the scheduled tutoring sessions (attached).

2. Students can always call or email me to make an appointment if they cannot make it during scheduled hours. (Contact info in the attached documents)
