Mission of the Library of the University of Antelope Valley

It’s the mission of the University of Antelope Valley Library to support the students and faculty in achieving their educational objectives with outstanding service through research, core collections, and freedom to pursue their goals successfully.


Services Offered at the UAV Library

  • Reference services are available which includes both online and book research. Students are encouraged to do their own research but can consult the librarian for assistance.
  • There are computers with Internet connection available for researching and word processing.
  • Students & instructors: For borrowing privileges, sign up for a library card. Applications are available in the library at the Sierra Campus.
  • Bibliographic instruction is also available to students and instructors. Please inquire with the librarian, Nalini I. Singh. Selected topics include plagiarism and Internet researching.
  • Our collection is growing, so please stop by if you need books for an assignment, project, or other research needs.

Course Library Guide

Academic Search Elite Database

Academic institutions worldwide depend on this database as their core resource of scholarly information. Academic Search™ Elite contains full text for more than 2,100 journals. Nearly 150 journals have PDF images dating back to 1985. The database includes PDF images for the great majority of journals; many of these PDFs are native (searchable) or scanned-in-color.

ERIC Database

ERIC®, the Education Resource Information Center, provides access to education literature and resources. The database provides access to information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index. ERIC contains more than 1.3 million records and links to more than 323,000 full-text documents from ERIC back to 1966.
