Program Description

A certificate in culinary arts and restaurant management opens doors to careers in food service.  Students study food preparation, menu planning, and safety in modern classrooms and kitchens.

Graduates are prepared for entry level employment as prep cooks, cooks, sous chefs, restaurant managers or chef.

UAV Student Creates Pastry for Local Coffee Shop
Travis Wilson, the owner of Perkies Coffee Haus, recently initiated a competition for the professional baking and pastry students at the University of Antelope Valley. The challenge was for each student to create a pastry and include the ingredient list, costs and preparation instructions, and if selected as the winner, that pastry would be prepared and sold at Perkies Coffee Haus locations in Palmdale and Lancaster, CA.
Late registration for Winter Semester is open until February 8th!

UAV Receives National Recognition for Hospitality Management Program
The University of Antelope Valley was recently recognized by Best Hospitality Degrees (BHD), the authority for hospitality degrees and schools, as one of the top 30 colleges in the nation offering an associate’s degree in hospitality management in 2015.
