Are you ready to begin your career in one of the most exciting and challenging fields in medicine? The Paramedic Training program at the University of Antelope Valley can get you there! In as little as six months (1,090 hours of instruction), we will prepare you to take the national registry exam for paramedics. This exam will qualify you for a license to work anywhere in the United States as a certified emergency paramedic!
Our program prepares you in three different phases: classroom instruction, clinical experience working with doctors and nurses in hospital/emergency room settings, and field internship learning from current on the job paramedics during actual life saving emergencies.
Paramedics are currently employed by fire departments, hospitals, public and private ambulance companies, and in private industry.

This program is designed to prepare men and women for entry into occupations that require employees to have training and skills as a paramedic. Not only have physicians become more reliant on paramedics, but their services are also being requested by hospitals, clinic, nursing homes, medical supply businesses, home health agencies, insurance companies, fire departments, and ambulance companies. Prospective students are encouraged to visit the institution's campus to receive a tour and to discuss personal educational and occupational plans with school personnel, prior to enrolling or signing enrollment agreements. Theory and laboratory are taught residentially.
Program Objective
The objective of the paramedic program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for positions as a paramedic. Our students will be trained in paramedic procedures. This training will allow our students the capability of filling a variety of entry-level positions, such as paramedic, firefighter, and ambulance driver.
