Emergency Management Services (EMS)

The EMS degree-granting program prepares the graduate for entry into a variety of EMS professions. This program prepares the graduate in paramedical studies, telecommunications, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) provider, Certified Emergency Vehicle Operations (CEVO), and anatomy and physiology. Graduates will develop a strong working knowledge for entry into an EMS profession. This degree-granting program prepares graduates for national certification.

Program Objective

Upon completion of this degree-granting program, the student shall have a basic working understanding of the human body's anatomy & physiology, posses a strong working knowledge as it relates to CEVO, develop a strong working knowledge as it relates to EMS systems, develop a strong basic understanding of the pre-hospital care system, and be prepared for higher level postions in the EMS fields.

Requirments
  • Must have one year experience as an EMT.
  • EMT exam is required after general assessment; must score 80% or above.
