Q: Is UAV accredited?
A:
Yes, we are institutionally accredited by ACICS (Accrediting Council of Independent Schools and Colleges). CLICK HERE to view our list of accrediting agencies, memberships, and approvals.
Q: Do I have to be an EMT to enroll in the Paramedic Program?
A:
Yes. You are required to have one year of experience as an EMT prior to enrollment.  A complete list of prerequisites can be found HERE
Q: Do I need to have a high school diploma or GED to enroll into UAV?
A:
Degree programs require a high school diploma or GED. We provide certification programs, some of which allow you to enroll without a high school diploma, but do require you to pass an “Ability to Benefit” assessment.
Q: Do you provide job placement?
A:
University of Antelope Valley offers lifetime placement assistance to all eligible graduates. This encompasses support services such as: Access to our job board, assistance with resume and cover letter development, as well as access to resources like fax and email for submission of resumes.
Q: Do you provide hands-on training?
A:
UAV programs provide a mixture of lecture, lab, and skills training.
Q: Are we related to Antelope Valley Community College?
A:
No, AVC is a 2-year community college. UAV is a private 4-year institution.
Q: Does UAV provide tutoring programs?
A:
Yes, tutoring is provided by instructor and student services provide a student mentorship program.

A:

A:
Yes.
Q: Can I transfer credits earned from previous colleges?
A:
Applicants must submit official transcripts from their previous institution 2 weeks prior to registration. After review, applicants will be notified which credits are transferable. Certification credits earned are not usually accepted from other institutions (Vocational Nursing is an exception).
Q: Will UAV have on campus dormitories?
A:
Yes.
Q: Do I have to be an EMT to enroll into the Fire Science program?
A:
No, the EMT training course is included in the program.
