Credential Earned: Occupational Associate Degree
68 week program; Monday – Thursday, 9:00pm – 1:00pm;
Course lengths vary. Students complete 1 course at a time. General Education and externship schedules vary.
This program provides an overview of sustainable energy and technologies with an emphasis on Solar PV, Thermal, and Wind Turbines. Students will practice the concepts learned in class in the laboratory as well as during the fieldwork portion of the program. The General Education component of the program enhances the student’s knowledge of the English language, mathematics, communications, and social sciences.
Graduates are prepared for entry level employment as Solar PV and Thermal installation technicians, solar sales representatives or estimators, and Wind Turbine technicians.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful program completion graduates will be able to:
- Understand environmental conditions and code compliance
- Participate in site survey, using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s)
- Assemble and understand the construction and features of PV modules and the various performances.
