UAV Softball Spring Schedule
Please join University of Antelope Valley’s co-Founder Sandra Johnson and the UAV Pioneers softball team, as they host USC’s club softball team for two days of action while raising awareness for the fight against breast cancer. The Pioneers annually host a breast cancer awareness weekend, where proceeds raised during their games go the local community affected by the disease. This year, UAV’s very own Korisa Mongiano will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. Korisa, a UAV employee for over three years, is currently battling her second round of breast cancer at the age of 25, and hopes her participation will raise awareness for younger women about the dangers and symptoms of the disease.
The University’s Pioneers Softball team will be playing USC’s club team at Lancaster City Park Field #5 in a double-header scheduled at 10am and at 12pm on Saturday, March 24th. On Sunday, they will play one game at 10 am. Lancaster City Park is located at 43063 N. 10th St West, Lancaster, CA, 93534. Please come out and support Pioneer Athletics and the fight against breast cancer!

The University of Antelope Valley Pioneers Softball team, in its first year of competition, officially tied with the University of Florida for the number# 2 ranking for the National Club Softball Association 2010-2011 season. With 140 points, UAV jumped from 10th to 2nd with its outstanding 12-0 Southern Pacific Conference Championship season, and its second place finish in the NCSA World Series Finals in Columbus, Georgia, in April. UAV is grateful for all of the community support and coverage it has received, and we are already setting our sights on the World Series Championship next year! Thank you again for your support!
