The Palmdale Chamber of Commerce in Conjunction with The City of Palmdale hosted The Taste of Palmdale held at Poncitlan Square on September 2, 2010. The University of Antelope Valley proudly participated in the event along with other local vendors in the community. Each facility was to provide bite sized tastes for the patrons of the evening’s event.

On hand to showcase UAV’s spin on taste was Executive Chef Cecil Humphries, Banquet Manager Pam Mazor and Banquet Captain Rosa Rivera. Chef Cecil presented red and golden raspberries infused withchampagne served in a mini champagne flute. The champagne infused berries were also served with a rich chocolate truffle married with Chambord liqueur provided by Chef Gayle O’Malley who is a welcome addition to the University of Antelope Valley as the new pastry chef and instructor.

Chef Gayle’s truffles are just the beginning of the culinary delights the community will experience. Guests were delighted with the elegant touch UAV displayed and the event was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community not only for Culinary Arts but other programs the University has to offer as well.
