Emergency Medical Technician Program
This program is designed to prepare the students for entry into an occupation that requires employees to have training and skills in emergency pre-hospital care treatments. Students receive training in basic life support measures, patient assessment, cardiac arrest skills, shock prevention, spinal immobilization, oxygen therapy, and vehicular extrication. Students who successfully complete this program are eligible to take the State, Los Angeles County, or the National Registry certification examination. Graduates may be employed by ambulance services, hospitals, fire departments, search and rescue crews, ski patrol, the movie industry and private industry. Prospective students are encouraged to visit the institution's campus to receive a tour and to discuss personal educational and occupational plans with school personnel, prior to enrolling or signing enrollment agreements. Theory and laboratory are taught residentially.
Program Objective
This program provides students with the necessary knowledge to be able to recognize, assess and treat potentially life-threatening and non life-threatening conditions. All training is in accordance with the latest pre-hospital care treatment measures. This training will allow our students the capability of filling a variety of entry-level positions. This program is intended for those students who have graduated from high school or GED; no experience in the medical field is necessary. At the completion of this course, the student will receive a certificate of completion.
