University of Antelope Valley Athletic Department invites applicants for the position of graduate assistant. UAV women’s basketball team competes in the California Pacific Conference and is a member of the NAIA.
The graduate assistant will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the women’s basketball program as defined by the head coach, including academic, and athletic development. Responsibilities may include assisting with practice planning, fundraising, game management, gym maintenance, academic monitoring, helping run JV practices, and may coach JV games. Additional duties include assisting in office administration of all phases, on the floor coaching, preseason workouts and all other aspects of the program assigned by the head coach.
The candidate must be able to be accepted by one of University of Antelope Valley’s Graduate programs. Degrees and description of the degrees can be found at www.uav.edu. Collegiate or professional basketball playing experience is required. The candidate also must have strong organizational skills, work ethic, willingness to have flexible hours, and ability to work effectively with collegiate student athletes, and be committed to developing as a coach.
Up to 1 year
Candidate will receive a partial scholarship towards a Master’s degree program of their choice provided by the University of Antelope Valley.
